On Wednesday 20 April, the Greek finance minister asked for a legal investigation to be opened into rumours of the supposedly restructuring of Greek government debt over Greek Easter weekend, which are believed to have originated from “a large international investment bank”, indicated in the media to be the American Citigroup. Given the negative impact on the markets of this kind of “ridiculous”, rumour, the minister has pledged to use all legal means to “identify and pursue those responsible”. (M.B./transl.fl)
