On 20 April, the European Commission authorised the acquisition by the British investment fund EQT V (EQT group) of the Swedish industrial group Dometic (air conditioning, refrigeration, toilets, kitchen plans for lorries, mobile homes, boats, but also hotel minibars). The Commission's investigation particularly focused on the vertical relationship between the hotel accommodation services provided by Scandic, which is owned by EQT V, and the “hotel minibars” activity of Dometic. It showed that Scandic's share of the hotel accommodation services market is relatively small and particularly limited on hotel minibar demand. This means that the operation, which was notified on 25 February 2011, is unlikely to affect competition in this sector. (F.G./transl.fl)
