01/04/2011 (Agence Europe) - EU taxes on Chinese fasteners: Beijing also appeals to WTO. On 30 March, China informed the WTO Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) of its decision to appeal against the report by the special group on the Chinese complaint over anti-dumping measures imposed by the EU on Chinese exports of steel and iron fasteners (DS 397). The EU has also appealed against the decision of 25 March. After Beijing referred the issue to the WTO in July 2009, the DSB ruled against the anti-dumping measures adopted by the EU in January 2009 - anti-dumping taxes, imposed for a five-year period, ranging from 26.5% to 85% - on Chinese metal fasteners.
