30/03/2011 (Agence Europe) - Agreement on fund for rehabilitation of the city of Szczecin. The European Investment Bank (EIB), in its capacity as manager of the JESSICA Holding Fund for Western Pomerania, and Bank Zachodni WBK (BZ WBK) as manager of the Urban Development Fund, on Tuesday 29 March signed an agreement creating Poland's third JESSICA urban development fund. This fund will aim to invest in development and refurbishment projects in the Greater Szczecin (SMA) area. To this end, BZ WBK will manage in the region of 77 million zlotys (PLN). JESSICA (Joint European Support for Sustainable Investment in City Areas) is one of the mechanisms set in place by initiative of the European Commission to help to make the EU cohesion policy more efficient and more sustainable.
