Brussels, 28/03/2011 (Agence Europe) - In 2010, an EU initiative aiming to improve the coordination of investment in the Western Balkans saw the funding of 73 projects in the region by the international donors and financial institutions, of a total value of €6 billion. The “investment framework for the Western Balkans”, launched by the European Commission, the European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Development Bank of the Council of Europe has already received more than 40 requests for funding in 2011, the EIB states in a press release published on Friday 25 March.
