Brussels, 09/03/2011 (Agence Europe) - “Italy is ready to make a contribution to a better definition and implementation of decisions on the crisis in Libya currently being examined by the United Nations, the European Union and the Atlantic Alliance”, the presidency of the Italian Republic said after a meeting of the Italian Supreme Defence Council. The latter met around the head of state, Giorgio Napolitano, the head of government, Silvio Berlusconi, and the main ministers including those for defence, home affairs, foreign affairs and economy and finance.
As far as the Libyan crisis is concerned, the Supreme Council examined measures taken and those prepared for providing help to refugees and ensuring their evacuation, according to a source cited by AFP. (L.C./transl.jl)
