Brussels, 09/03/2011 (Agence Europe) -According provisional figures released by Eurostat on Wednesday 9 March, the EU's current account (flow of goods, services, income and money transfers between resident and non-resident bodies and individuals) was in deficit to the tune of €30.4 billion in the fourth quarter of 2010, compared with a deficit of €4.9bn in Q409 and a deficit of €19.7bn in Q310. Eurostat, the EU's statistical office, explains that in Q410, the EU goods account was in deficit to the tune of €26.3bn, compared with a deficit of €8.4bn in Q409 and a deficit of €28.4bn in Q310. The services account was in surplus in Q410 to the tune of €15.0bn, compared with a surplus of €18.9bn in Q409 and a surplus of €21.1bn in Q310. (O.L./transl.fl)
