10/02/2011 (Agence Europe) - Four new reserved designations. The European Commission announced on Wednesday 9 February that the names of four agricultural and food products had been added to the protected designation of origin (PDO) and protected geographical indications (PGI) lists: Hofer Rindfleischwurst (sausage, PGI, Germany), Carciofo Spinoso de Sardegna (artichoke, PDO, Italy), Arancia de Ribera (orange, PDO, Italy) and Limone di Siracusa (lemon, PGI, Italy). The names of these four products have been added to the list of almost 1,000 products already protected under legislation on the protection of geographical indications, denominations of origin and traditional specialities.
