15/12/2010 (Agence Europe) - For the first time, a regional minister-president addresses the General Affairs Council (GAC). On Tuesday, the minister-president of Wallonia, Belgium, Rudy Demotte presented the conclusions of the informal ministerial meeting, in Liège in November, devoted to cohesion policy. This is the first time that a region has had the opportunity to speak directly at the GAC. The Hungarian Presidency of the EU Council of Ministers will continue this new tradition, assured Hungarian Cohesion Policy Minister Thomas Fellagi in Liège (see EUROPE 10263). (G.B./transl.rt)
