02/12/2010 (Agence Europe) - Meeting between representatives from the Jewish and Muslim communities in Brussels. More than 50 leaders from Muslim and Jewish communities throughout Europe are meeting up in a forum on Monday 6 December in Brussels, to discuss initiatives for deepening relations between the two communities in Europe. They will meet the president of the European Council, Herman Van Rompuy, and present him with a joint declaration. This event is being organised by the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding and the World Jewish Congress (WJC). In a press release, Rabbi Marc Schneir, the president of the Foundation and vice president of the WJC, declared: “Fostering good relations between Muslims and Jews in Europe is critical if we want to offer the next generation a better future here”.
