Brussels, 01/12/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 30 November, the European Commission cleared the proposed acquisition of manufacturer and supplier of motor vehicle components Body Systems Holdings Netherlands BV (BSH) by private holding company Renco Group of the United States.
BSH is active worldwide in the manufacture and supply of motor vehicle components such as integrated sunroof and door systems for use mainly in light vehicles. Renco, which makes long-term investments in companies across a range of industries, is active in the manufacture and supply of automotive components through its wholly-owned subsidiary Inteva products LLC. Inteva's activities in the EEA are limited to the supply of door modules for heavy vehicles and locking systems for light vehicles. The parties' activities overlap, then, notably in the supply of door modules/window regulators and of door locks. BSH also supplies window motors that are incorporated into door modules/window regulators.
After investigating the proposed transaction, the Commission decided that the parties were not each other's closest competitors and concluded that the acquisition, of which it was notified on 22 October, did not raise competition concerns on the markets affected. (F.G./transl.rt)
