19/11/2010 (Agence Europe) - The Commission hopes its programme, Better Training for Safer Food (BTSF), will become widely acknowledged. The programme aims to ensure a good knowledge of the EU's import requirements and standards throughout the world. Dialogue with third countries was initiated during a high level conference (18-19 November) in Brussels. Some 200 delegates from the EU, the African Union and other third countries reflected on training priorities. The creation of a pilot project for online apprenticeship could see light of day by end 2013. After 2014, the Commission is aiming at online apprenticeship for basic training and the organisation of meetings of international experts to define the order of priorities. (A.N./transl.jl)
