Van Rompuy wants more consumer demand and an open market

Brussels, 16/11/2010 (Agence Europe) - China must encourage domestic demand and open up its markets to European products and investment, said Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council. “The Chinese economy has to shift from export-led growth to a more domestic-level growth”, he said on Tuesday addressing the European Policy Centre (EPC) in Brussels.
