Greece continues to fail to comply with rules on animal by-products and could face fine

Brussels, 01/10/2010 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission decided on Thursday 30 September to send a letter of formal notice to Greece calling on it to comply with a 2009 ruling of the EU Court of Justice. The Court ruled that Greece had failed to comply with Community law on disposal of animal by-products. The Commission takes the view that the Greek authorities have not taken the measures necessary to comply with the Court ruling. Greece will have two months to come into compliance....
