03/09/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 3 September, the European Commission announced that four further agricultural and food products were being added to the list of protected designations of origin (PDO) and protected geographic indications (PGI). These are, from Spain, “Los Pedroches”, ham, PDO, and “Queso de Flor du Guía/Queso de Media Flor du Guía/Queso de Guía”, cheese, PDO; from France, “Génisse Fleur d'Aubrac”, heifer, PDO; and from Germany, “Hessischer Handkäse/Hessischer Handkäs”, cheese, PGI. The four will be added to the list of some 950 products already protected by the law on geographical indications, designations of origin and traditional specialities. (L.C./transl.rt)
