Commission approves aid scheme for recapitalisation of Greek credit institutions through Financial Stability Fund

Brussels, 03/09/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 3 September, the European Commission authorised a scheme for the recapitalisation of credit institutions in Greece by the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund (FSF). The Commission formed the view that the recapitalisation scheme was compatible with EU rules that allow aid to remedy a serious disturbance in the economy of a member state and also its communication on the recapitalisation of credit institutions.
