02/09/2010 (Agence Europe) - The Serb president, Boris Tadic, will be meeting Catherine Ashton in Strasbourg on 7 September to discuss a draft resolution on Kosovo that Serbia has submitted to the UN General Assembly. The draft resolution has not yet been backed by the EU because of disagreements in its midst about the fate of Kosovo. Five countries (Spain, Greece, Cyprus, Slovakia and Romania) refuse to recognise Kosovo's independence. The UK foreign minister, William Hague, visiting Belgrade earlier in the week, called on Serbia to enter discussions with Ashton to formulate a new draft resolution that would be acceptable to Serbia and the 27 EU member states.
