02/09/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 7 September, the Ecofin Council will give its endorsement to the payment of a second instalment of aid granted to Greece as part of the plan for supporting the country's economy. On Thursday 2 September, Coreper approved changes to be made to Council Decision 2010/320/EC of 10 May 2010 establishing conditions for remedying the excessive deficit situation in Greece. Adapting this decision to take account of progress already made by the Greek authorities, finance ministers will allow the payment of €9 billion to be released, as recommended by the Commission (EUROPE 10198).
