25/08/2010 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has given its blessing to the planned merger whereby the American company Emerson will take sole control of Chloride, a supplier of electrical equipment based in the UK. Emerson is an international supplier of technological solutions for network power, process management, industrial automation, climate technologies, storage solutions, motor technologies and the appliances sectors. Its merger with Chloride will not cause any competition problems, according to a Commission press release published on Tuesday 24 August. Although both companies are active in the production and sales on uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and related after-sales services, the Commission is of the opinion that the new entity will continue to face several credible competitors on all the national markets concerned by the operation.
