25/08/2010 (Agence Europe) - The president of Luxembourg and chair of the Eurogroup, Jean-Claude Juncker, was awarded the European Schwarzkopf-Stiftung Junges Europa Prize on 18 August 2010 by a jury of young Europeans, who selected him from a shortlist drawn up by 200,000 young people from across Europe. They decided that Jean-Claude Juncker stood out through his ability to get young people to understand the historical importance of the European project and European cooperation, and also through his exemplary management of the financial crisis. His commitment has helped design a European Union with which young people can identify. The prize-giving ceremony will take place in Berlin on 3 December 2010. (A.B./transl.fl)
