42% of Europeans consider road safety can be improved by stepping up compliance with Highway Code

Brussels, 30/07/2010 (Agence Europe) - Only 42% of European citizens consider greater respect of the Highway Code would improve road safety, according to the results of the Eurobarometer survey published on 26 July. A slim majority (52%) considers that, first and foremost, it would be necessary to improve road infrastructure, and 31% of respondents took the view that improving infrastructure was a real priority.
