Brussels, 30/07/2010 (Agence Europe) - On 27 July, the European Commission adopted a proposal in which it requests that the EU Council of Ministers authorise it to open talks on extending the protocol to the fisheries partnership agreement between the EU and Guinea-Bissau. The current protocol will expire on 15 June 2011. It provides for an annual financial contribution of €7 million per year, 35% of which goes to support the Guinea-Bissau fisheries policy.
