Re-assessment of duties on Chinese bicycles

Brussels, 13/07/2010 (Agence Europe) - The Official Journal of the EU of 13 July has announced that the European Commission has opened a review of anti-dumping measures on imports of bicycles from China. A request for this move was made in April by the European Bicycle Makers Association (EBMA), on behalf of producers accounting for more than 25% of European production. A definitive anti-dumping duty, established by Regulation 1524/2000/EC, amended by Regulation 1095/2005/EC, is already in place. The EBMA points out that the expiry of measures is likely to see dumping continue and further damage to the EU.

The OJ of 13 July notes, too, that the anti-dumping duty established by Regulation 1095/2005/EC on imports of bicycles from Vietnam is due to expire on 15 July. (E.H./transl.rt)
