Moves towards European charger for electric vehicles

Brussels, 30/06/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 29 June, European Industry Commissioner Antonio Tajani gave the European standardisation organisations - CEN-CENELEC and ETSI - a mandate to develop a common charging system for electric cars, scooters and bicycles. The new standard will ensure that all types of electric vehicles and their batteries can be charged both safely and easily in all EU member states.
