Reasoned opinions against Italy for non-compliance with EU legislation on free movement of workers

Brussels, 25/06/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 24 June, the European Commission sent two reasoned opinions to Italy within the framework of infringement proceedings. The first invites Italy to end the discrimination against applicants to public sector posts. The second calls on Italy to end discriminatory access to student accommodation. Unless Rome provides a satisfactory answer within two months, the Commission may decide to take action against Italy before the EU Court of Justice.
