17/06/2010 (Agence Europe) - The EPP Group's candidate László Tõkés was elected as one of the European Parliament's 14 vice-presidents on Tuesday 15 June. The Romanian gained 334 votes, and there were 287 abstentions. He replaces former Hungarian Vice-President Pál Schmitt (EPP) who has become the Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament. (A.B./transl.rt)
