Brussels, 15/06/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 15 June in Strasbourg, the European Parliament approved four decisions on use of the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund in 2010 to assist workers, largely in Spain and Ireland, get back into employment (see EUROPE 10155 on approval of this aid by the Council). The EP adopted four reports by Barbara Matera (EPP, Italy). The allocations are as follows: - €6.59 million for the workers who lost their jobs in ceramic sector companies in the Spanish region of the Comunidad Valenciana; - €1.95 million for those made redundant by companies which made doors and doorframes in the Spanish region of Castilla-La Mancha; - €2.57 million for the 598 people who lost their jobs in the glass sector in Ireland (Waterford Crystal and three of its suppliers); - €1.11 million for technical assistance.
