03/06/2010 (Agence Europe) - On 3 June, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Catherine Ashton welcomed the decisions of several third countries (Croatia, Macedonia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Moldova, Armenia and Georgia) to align themselves with the EU move of 26 April 2010 to renew restrictive measures against Burma/Myanmar. The EU decision to renew sanctions was published in EU Official Journal L105. The same countries also aligned themselves with the EU move of 22 December 2009 (decision 2009/1002/CFSP) on sanctions against North Korea, decisions also welcomed by Ashton in a second statement on 3 June.
