03/06/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 3 June, EU home affairs ministers adopted conclusions on the action plan proposed by the European Commission for implementation of the Stockholm programme for justice, freedom and security (2010-2014). Ministers deplored the fact that some of the Commission's provisions are not in line with the said programme, which was adopted by the European Council in December. On the contrary, some measures foreseen in the programme do not appear in the action plan, they say. Ministers therefore call on the Commission to only take initiatives that are fully in line with the Stockholm programme, so that the latter may be fully and swiftly implemented. They also call on the Commission to present the mid-term assessment on implementation of the Stockholm programme by June 2012, taking their comments into account. (B.C./transl.jl)
