01/12/2009 (Agence Europe) - During the ministerial plenary and before the press, French Secretary of State for Trade Anne-Marie Idrac reiterated, on Tuesday 1 December, the attachment that France feels for a “complete, ambitious and balanced” agreement to conclude Doha talks. “This is a central goal”, she told her peers, before pointing out that the “EU has made very significant concessions especially on agriculture”. “European agriculture has already given a great deal”, the French agriculture minister, Bruno Lemaire, told reporters, placing emphasis on the EU's agreement to eliminate farm export subsidies by 2013 - which has made “indepth reform” of CAP necessary “We must therefore reach concessions from our partners in the other chapters. France is not willing to make further concessions in agriculture”, he warned. “Many questions have not been resolved in the draft arrangements on the table today, in particular regarding market access”, Ms Idrac explained.
