Brussels, 27/11/2009 (Agence Europe) - The Anna Lindh Foundation has announced that it will be organising a forum bringing together Euro-Mediterranean civil society associations from 4 to 7 March 2010 in Barcelona in order, as it points out in a press release, to “give fresh impetus to cooperation between the civil society organisations that devote effort to intercultural dialogue within the Union for the Mediterranean”. A call for tenders is being launched in the 43 countries involved in the UfM, until 15 December 2009. It will allow 150 civil society representatives to be selected in relation to the contribution that they are able to make to the different events of the forum.
Last Tuesday, the foundation presented its work programme for 2010 to senior officials responsible for monitoring the EuroMed process. Arab countries have asked to dismiss all “inter-cultural” dialogue action, a term that encompasses operations involving Israel as well as Arab countries. (F.B./transl.jl)
