European Parliament gives go-ahead to Stockholm Programme

Brussels, 25/11/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 25 November, the European Parliament approved the setting up of the Freedom, Security and Justice Area multi-annual programme for 2010-2014 (the Stockholm Programme). In a resolution adopted by 487 votes to 122, with 49 abstentions, MEPs demonstrated their desire to forge ahead with the development of an enhanced Justice, Freedom and Security Area, with particular emphasis laid on fundamental rights.
