25/11/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 25 November, Coreper formally approved the global air agreement sealed with Canada, initialled in November. Signing of the contract, foreseen for 6 May, was delayed due to technical difficulties on the part of the EU. This agreement of a global nature, which is one of the most ambitious that the EU has concluded at this stage, provides for the gradual establishment of airspace between the EU and Canada with gradual and mutual liberalisation of air traffic and market access (see EUROPE 9801). It may be signed during the next Transport Council on 17 December. (A.By./transl.jl)
