Concerns over Middle-East peace and acknowledgement of shortcomings of Union for the Mediterranean

Brussels, 05/11/2009 (Agence Europe) - The situation in the Arab-Israeli conflict is one of deadlock in the view of virtually all the members of the Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly (EMPA) political committee, which met in Brussels on Tuesday 3 November. The general opinion was that the settlements issue and the damning report by South African judge Richard Goldstone, appointed by the UN to investigate the events in Gaza at the end of 2008, provide little hope of the peace process...
