23/10/2009 (Agence Europe) - The four new commissioners will be officially sworn in at a ceremony in the Court of Justice on Monday 26 October. Karel de Gucht (Belgium, Development and Humanitarian Aid) replaces Louis Michel; Pawe³ Samecki (Poland, Regional Policy) replaces Danuta Hübner; Algirdas Šemeta (Lithuania, Financial Planning and Budget) replaces Dalia Grybauskaité; and Maroš Šefèoviè (Slovakia, Education, Training, Culture and Youth) replaces Ján Figel'. The commissioners took up their posts in July of this year, with the exception of Šefèoviè who has held his post since 1 October. (C.D./transl.rt)
