Brazil and India want to begin consultations with EU on access to generic medicines

Brussels, 23/10/2009 (Agence Europe) - According to diplomatic sources in Geneva quoted by Reuters, Brazil and India are about to initiate proceedings at the WTO against the EU over access to generic medicines. On Thursday 22 October, the Brazilian and Indian Ambassadors to the WTO announced their governments' intention to call for consultations with the EU at the WTO on this issue, the first step on the way to a formal complaint in the dispute settlement procedures. “We've taken the...
