23/10/2009 (Agence Europe) - In August 2009 compared with July 2009, the euro area industrial new orders index rose by 2.0%. In July, the index increased by 3.0%. According to figures published in Eurostat on Friday 23 October, in the EU27 new orders grew by 1.2% in August 2009, after an increase of 1.6% in July. In August 2009 compared with August 2008, industrial new orders decreased by 23.1% in the euro area and by 22.3% in the EU27. (A.B./transl.rh)
