02/07/2008 (Agence Europe) - The European Erasmus Programme to promote mobility among students and exchanges in higher education has won the Medalla de Ingeniería Química (chemical engineering medal) from Valladolid University in Spain. The university's chemical engineering department is extremely representative of the success of Erasmus because nearly 80% of its students take part in an Erasmus exchange programme. Valladolid University is highly active in Erasmus, sending more than 180 lecturers and 800 students abroad under Erasmus, with 850 students from overseas coming to study in Valladolid. Of the 100 European universities taking part in Erasmus, Valladolid is the 20th most requested university. (I.L.)
