Five new members of European Corporate Governance Forum

Brussels, 02/07/2008 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has appointed five new members of the European Corporate Governance Forum (ECGF) for three years. Created in 2004, the forum identifies best corporate governance practices, promotes exchanges of such practices and advises the Commission on policy. It has produced a report on the implementation of the “comply or explain” principle, by which companies which do not fully comply with their national corporate governance codes should publically explain their decision (see EUROPE 9147).

The five new members of the ECGF are Bistra Boeva from the University for National and World Economic Studies, Sofia, Niklas Bruun from the Swedish School of Economics and Business Administration, Klaus-Peter Müller, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Commerzbank, Marek Sowa, the President of the Management Board of Agora SA and Trelawny Williams, the Director of Corporate Finance at Fidelity International.
