08/02/2007 (Agence Europe) - In Brussels on 6 March, the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) and the European Economic and Social Committee are organising a conference on the EU's energy policy. Topics of debate include global energy scenarios until 2030; how to articulate industrial and energy policy in a liberalised energy market; public service energy objectives and safeguarding consumer rights; and energy and climate change. The day will close with a round table on new democratic practices for a sustainable energy transition. Info: Helene Braun, ETUC, Tel: +32 2 224 0580, http://www.etuc.org (gb)
