09/02/2004 (Agence Europe) - The President of the international union of Alsace abroad, François Brunagel, has taken the initiative of organising a meeting in Brussels on 16 February between representatives of the German Länder and the French regions. This meeting comes under the heading of the intensification of co-operation between these two Member States of the European Union. An initial meeting between the chairs of local organisations of the two countries took place last October in Poitiers, under the aegis of French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin.
