30 million EUR for refugees and displaced persons in Burundi and Tanzania

Brussels, 09/02/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has approved humanitarian aid to vulnerable populations in Burundi and Tanzania, to a total of 30 million EUR. The funds, made available through Echo (the Community's humanitarian aid office), will be allocated as follows:

Burundi: 15 million EUR to reduce the mortality rate among refugees, displaced persons, those returning home, women and children (food and nutritional aid, support for the national programme to control malaria...
