16/12/2015 (Agence Europe) - Commission announces another €30 million support. On Wednesday 16 December, the European Commission announced a new €30 million support programme for Armenia. A sum of €15 million from this funding will go to the Better Qualifications for Better Jobs action that will aim to improve the effectiveness of the labour market in Armenia and the employability of its workforce, with special emphasis on agricultural jobs. Another €10 million will be dedicated to the Public Finance Policy Reform Programme, which will address the accountability, transparency and effectiveness of public spending in Armenia in line with international standards and practices. This should also help prevent corruption. The final €5 million will go to the Civil Society Facility. This project will improve the organisational capacity of civil society organisations, as well as their capacity to engage in policy formulation and monitoring. (CG)
