25/11/2015 (Agence Europe) - New €20 note enters into circulation. A new €20 note was issued on Wednesday 25 November. It includes a new kind of security feature (a “portrait window” near the top of the hologram stripe, which reveals a portrait of Europa, a figure from Greek mythology). The new note is also more resistant to counterfeiting and the old €20 notes will gradually be withdrawn from circulation. To mark the arrival of the new note, a competition - Euro Run - has been launched for children aged 9-12 who live in the eurozone. The competition will last until 25 February 2016, and involves children “running” through an imaginary landscape, answering simple questions about euro cash and avoiding obstacles and traps. They collect points as they make their way through seven different levels. The top 100 players will receive a new €20 banknote set in a special engraved frame.
