Brussels, 25/11/2015 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 25 November, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini responded to the attack against the bus carrying presidential guards in Tunisia - a country which has “once again been hit by terrorist violence”. Mogherini said that “after Bamako, Paris and Beirut, it clearly seems that it is Europe, Africa and the Arab world, and hence the international community, that are the targets of terrorism”. “We will respond by uniting our forces”, she said.
Mogherini “expresses the full solidarity” of the EU, which stands “alongside Tunisia more than ever”. “Since the Bardo and Sousse attacks, we have strengthened our cooperation in the fight against terrorism and increased our support to confront the socio-economic challenges that the country is going through. The EU will spare no effort in ensuring the success of the democratic transition to which Tunisians aspire”, Mogherini stated. (Original version in French by Fathi B'Chir)
