30/10/2015 (Agence Europe) - Adoption of two EMFF Operational Programmes for 2014-2020. On Wednesday 28 October, the European Commission adopted the Polish and Greek Operational Programmes for implementing the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) for 2014-2020. The funding earmarked for Poland is €710.5 million of public funding, €531.2 million of which will come from the EU budget. This is the second highest programme in terms of funding after Spain. A total of €201.7 million are foreseen to develop fish farming. The Greek programme is being financed to the tune of €523.4 million, €388.7 million from the EU budget. The lion's share, €186.2 million, will go to the fisheries industry. (LC)
