10/09/2015 (Agence Europe) - Single market strategy priorities to be debated. The challenges of the European strategy for a single digital market, in terms of more for consumers and in terms of competition, will be the focus of a conference organised by the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the EU, in Luxembourg on 21 September. The title of the conference is “Consumer and Competition Day”. Representatives from the EU institutions, competition authorities, national administrations, the business world and consumer associations will debate the following issues: Geoblocking: a result of single market obstacles for consumers or enterprises?; - Platforms as online marketplaces; - Multi-sided platforms. The strategy for a single digital market, which was presented on 6 May, aims to increase access to digital content and goods, and to improve competition for the benefit of consumers. (AN)
