05/02/2014 (Agence Europe) - Carl Bildt calls on EU to commit to a new dialogue with Tehran. On 5 February, Sweden's Minister for Foreign Affairs Carl Bildt called on the European Union to commit to a new dialogue with Iran. Bildt is currently visiting the country. “We, from the EU, should engage in a new and broad dialogue with Iran. [We must] build new trust over the gulfs of mistrust of the past [and we must] encourage change”, he said on Twitter. He added that human rights should be a “key part” of any new dialogue. “We must be firm. But a more open relationship on other issues would help here as well”, he said. (CG/transl.fl)
