Brussels, 05/02/2014 (Agence Europe) - On 4 February, the European Commission and the Scientific Committee on Emerging Newly Identified Health Risks (SCENIHR) launched a public consultation on the preliminary opinion on “potential health effects of exposure to electromagnetic fields”. The objective is to assess whether the opinions delivered by the SCENIHR in 2009 on the effects of electromagnetic fields on health still pending. The SCENIHR wants the science community's opinion on the issue and asks all interested parties to submit their opinion to the SCENIHR by 16 April 2014. In order to inform the debate, the Greek Presidency of the EU Council of Ministers will organise a debate on the issue in Athens on 27 March. (IL/transl.fl)
