NATO: Finnish President and Prime Minister announce their support for their country joining NATO

Finnish President Sauli Niinistö and Prime Minister Sanna Marin announced, on Thursday 12 May, their support for their country’s membership of NATO (see EUROPE B12931A9).

“Finland must apply for NATO membership without delay”, they said in a joint statement. According to them, “NATO membership would strengthen Finland’s security.
